Pilar was thrilled to receive her first computer. An immigrant from Peru, she uses the computer to send email to her sons in Peru and Maryland.
Pilar read in her local Petaluma newspaper about the Chicana/Latina Foundation Broadband Awareness and Adoption Program, which is giving away refurbished computers to community members who are first time Internet subscribers.
The Chicana/Latina Foundation (CLF) recruits young leaders as broadband ambassadors to help families adopt broadband in low-income communities in eight Northern California counties.
For more information about the CLF Broadband Awareness and Adoption Program, call Alicia Orozco, Broadband Awareness and Adoption Project Coordinator at 650.548.1049 or visit www.chicanalatina.org.
